[About the Club]

The Porchlight Hours was created to bring people together in a way that feels honest and human. At its heart, it’s about sparking meaningful conversation and helping folks connect with each other (with a little creative magic along the way). There will always be something hands-on to make or do, and you can count on some snacks to keep the vibes cozy and welcoming.

Our mission is to keep things affordable and as accessible as possible, so everyone feels invited to pull a chair. It’s a trusted circle where you can talk about struggles, joys, or anything in between. No pressure, no need to have it all figured out.

We believe that art and creativity can bridge the divides that so often keep us apart - racial, political, or otherwise - and remind us what community really looks like. Through shared projects, conversations, and a steady spark of kindness, we hope to build the kind of bonds that make Richmond feel more like home.

Every now and then, we’ll switch things up: think book swaps, clothing swaps, or letting folks casually teach a skill they have. The Porchlight Hours is about showing up for each other, growing together, and remembering that community is something we create, with our own hands and hearts.
